Arriving in Dubrovnik, the immense city walls surrounding the city with the Min?eta Tower, Fort Boker and Saint John’s Fortress may surprise you. Your first thought may be, safety first, must be their motto! These fortifying structures together with the St. Lawrence chapel and Fort Revelin are the scene of weddings and festivities. The 12th century Sponza Palace houses the political and economical documents of the past association with other European countries. The Franciscan monastery houses a 13th century pharmacy, while the Dominican Monastery houses the collections of the Dubrovnik School of Art from the 15th and 16th centuries.

Hotels and restaurants are abundant, as are cinemas, discotheques, nightclubs and pubs. Dubrovnik is the Rivera of Croatia, offering boat tours such as the three, island tour including a stopover, to play on the beach of the Island of Mljet. If, it rains, buses are ready to replace the boats, offering trips along the coast of Ston, with a stopover at the Trsteno renaissance park to visit the arboretum, then on to the Mali Ston mussel beds and other sites.

There is no lack of things to do or places to go, or attractions to see, once in Dubrovnik. Your only problem will be, not wanting to leave. You may be tempted to make reservations for a return trip. You can reach Dubrovnik by land, sea or air or any travel combination including trains. Once you arrive, leave the driving to others so you will not miss the exquisite natural beauty Dubrovnik.
