When Hippocrates said “the physician treats but nature heals,”
he was describing the human body’s natural tendency toward
minimizing illness and creating optimal health. As we know,
however, the body needs a little help at times. Alternative
health practices can support the physical body in its natural
propensity toward healing by applying very effective remedies.

In this article we present powerful natural treatments for three
health conditions that frequently affect children: asthma, head
lice, and pink eye. Orthodox medical doctors and the drug
conglomerates won’t be overly thrilled that you know these
natural treatments; they have no way of patenting or monetizing
these cures.

The Asthma Remedy

Asthma is a serious (if not frightening) disorder in which the
airway becomes inflamed, resulting in wheezing, loss of breath,
and tightness in the chest. About 15 million people in the U.S.
suffer with asthma and there are more than half a million
hospitalizations resulting from this disorder.

The prevalence of asthma has been increasing for every age group
affected. Children have the highest increase; over the last ten
years the rate of asthma in children has increased by over 90%.
Parents with asthmatic children will know that the quickest
remedy for an asthma attack comes from medication, but there are
times when a child’s inhaler is not available.

There are two natural ways to treat an asthma attack which
relate to the soothing effect that warm liquid has on bronchial
tubes. First, try some hot soup which can soothe the bonchials.
However, the second remedy can be more effective since it
includes a warm liquid with an additional ingredient: caffeine.
Coffee or tea, with caffeine, can open airways similar to the
way inhalers do, so try this during an asthma episode if no
medication is available.

The Pink Eye Cure

Before 1938, patentable antibacterial drugs had not been
developed, so colloidal silver was the primary “medicine” for
fighting infections in the U.S. It is quietly used today as a
cleaning agent in water tanks, by airlines for in-flight water
purification, and by NASA to sterilize water on the Space
Shuttle. Why? Colloidal silver has been found to destroy about
650 viral, bacterial, and fungal “bugs.”

One independent laboratory conducted research to determine the
effectiveness of a colloidal silver manufactured by a company
called Earthborn Products. This silver was applied to both
normal and resistant strains of staphylococcus aureus bacteria
and incubated at 37 degrees centigrade. The staph cultures were
killed in just four minutes! Also, research at the Upstate
Medical Center at Syracuse University (N.Y.) found that “silver
works on a wide range of bacteria without any known side
effects…”

Pink eye (pinkeye) or conjunctivitis is a highly contagious
ailment in which the conjunctiva or membrane that covers the eye
is infected by a virus or bacterial infection. Although
harmless, the challenge is to keep infected family members from
contaminating those around them. This challenge, however, has
been met with colloidal silver.

Many people are successfully treating their pink eye by applying
one or two drops of colloidal silver in their eyes, twice a day.
In fact, Dr. Evan M. Kansas reported in Science Digest (1978)
that he experienced “instant success” using colloidal silver
with immune compromised patients. One example he gave was a
patient’s pinkeye that was totally resolved in less than six
hours after topical treatment!

The Head Lice Cure

Mom and dad, if you’re tired of “nit picking,” then pay
attention. About ten million people in America are afflicted
with head lice and their eggs, or “nits.” The head louse lives
in human hair fairly close to the scalp where it feeds on human
blood. Female lice lay about 10 eggs per day and the babies, or
nits, hang-on to strands of hair with amazing tenacity.

Getting rid of head lice is a three-step process. You must kill
all the live lice, check for and remove all the nits by combing
and manual nit picking, and you must do a thorough job of
cleaning the infested person’s belongings and home environment.

Doctor Lawrence Schachner of the University of Miami School of
Medicine has found what he believes is the best, fastest natural
remedy for head lice yet: petroleum jelly. This cure works not
by poisoning the lice (like the prescription drugs available),
but by smothering them. Dr. Schachner recommends slathering
petroleum jelly on your child’s scalp and hair in the evening
before bed. Then put a shower cap on the child and let him sleep
the night with the cap on. By morning, the lice and knits are
smothered. The down side? Children must do repeated shampoos to
remove the petroleum jelly, so their hair may look oily for a
while.

You are a powerful being, much more powerful than you may have ever realized. Each and every one of us, are kings of the highest nobility. We have unimagined powers to create anything we want to experience.

Yet most of us completely waste our lives because we are ignorant of our own incredible powers. We are Divine beings with an unlimited spiritual and material inheritance.

I know that most of us, myself included, aren’t coming anywhere close to fulfilling our potentials. Maybe that’s because there is no limit to what we can achieve. But it’s also because of mass ignorance of what we really are and what we’re capable of attaining.

I’ve been studying various personal growth systems for 24 years, to learn how to unleash my full potential. In essence, I’ve been studying, how to become a Superbeing.

It’s a never-ending process. I always learn something new and because of that, develop my personal power to a higher level.

The other day I made a stunning realization that is contained in a five word magic phrase.

It’s only five words long and yet it contains the secret to having anything you want. If you fully understand this phrase, you’ll get whatever you want from life. I’ll explain with a story.

Many years ago, when I was in college, I had problems getting a girlfriend. I was rather shy and didn’t know how to meet women and get them to go out with me. The funny thing is that I’m a fairly attractive guy and yet I somehow repelled women. Especially women I was interested in.

I know now what my problem was. I had fears and limitations when it came to women. However, I discovered a technique that instantly overcame my limitations, but I had forgotten about this until recently.

The beauty of this is that you don’t have to go through years of psychoanalysis. Just use my simple idea and you’ll instantly smash through your limitations, whatever they are.

When I tried to ask a girl out, I was internally chasing after her. I also subconsciously visualized failure because I had anxiety about the whole process. Subconsciously I didn’t feel worthy.

Sometimes when you want and grasp after something so much, you actually repel it. This is exactly what I was doing. I wanted a girlfriend so badly that they could sense that and this scared them away.

Then one day I realized a spiritual principle from something I read that I used to turn things around.

I had to stop chasing and striving after women, or any goal for that matter. I had to change my energy flow from taking to giving. I simply had to give love and be myself. Instead of chasing, I attracted. Within a week of that realization, I got a new girlfriend.

What I did was to create, instead of chase. If you want something, simply create it in your imagination. Once you’ve created it, it is a real substance in the spiritual dimensions. It will automatically start attracting the mental and then physical equivalent to you.

After all what is a visionary? All great athletes have a vision of being a world champion. Arnold Schwarzenegger constantly visualized his head on top of the body of Reg Park, who was a famous body-building champion.

A thought is real and it has powerful magnetic properties. The seed of all you acquire is planted inwardly first. Here are two great quotes that illustrate my points.

“Man attracts what he is. The art of life is to sustain the feeling of the wish fulfilled and let things come to you, not to go after them or think they flee away.”

So what is this magic phrase I’ve been talking about? It’s simply this:

*** Don’t Chase It, Create It ***

You get what you create, not what you chase after. The key is to think from a state of already having what you want. Think from satisfaction. Think from the end.

If you feel or focus on the lack of what you want, you will get the lack of it. Many people don’t realize they are subconsciously focusing on lack and limitation.

Enjoy what you want in your imagination first. That is the birthplace of all creation. Once you’ve made it inwardly, you immediately attract all the elements you need to create it.

The key to instantly overcoming all your mental blocks is this. Simply ‘act as if,’ you’ve already achieved your goal. You don’t need to ‘believe’ it’s true, just become an actor.

Model the state of mind and body you would have if you already achieved your goal. This modeling will instantly defeat all your personal limitations and hang-ups related to your goal.

What holds most people back with visualization are their internal blocks. They visualize something they want, then five minutes later their doubts and fears kick in and they subconsciously create the exact opposite of what they want. Their positive visualization is negated by the more constant state of their negative thinking.

Just spend five minutes in the morning and before going to bed visualizing yourself having already achieved your goal. Live in your visualization, and enjoy it as much as possible. It is a real thing, on the higher spiritual planes, however it may take a bit of time for it to manifest physically.

Then throughout the day: walk, talk, act and feel as if you already have your goal. Think from satisfaction and take action. Don’t worry if it’s physically real or not. Just get into the feeling and you’ll start attracting the ideas, people and circumstances to make your dream a reality.

Upon the Roman Hill, Caesar announced “Veni, vidi, vici.”. This interpreted means ” I came, I saw, I conquered.” Today, we have many such announcements from victors. The one such speaking would be unutterable if it were coming from a secret society known as the “Opus Dei”.
This organization also is known as the “Holy Mafia” for its “allegedly secretive practices, aggressive recruiting tactics, and its ability to seemingly “…exert undue influence on the Vatican

Opus Dei or “the work of God”, today is an organization that was started in 1902 by a priest named Josemaria Escriva Babastros, Spain. Quoting this priest we find such statements as “Blessed be pain. Loved be pain. Sanctified be pain. . . Glorified be pain!” (The Way, 208) or “What has been lost through the flesh, the flesh should pay back: be generous in your penance”. (The Forge 207). It is within the framework I believe of good intentions this started with Josemaria. The organization started mainly as a way for lay people to do the “work of God” within the Catholic church. Today, however, this small organization remembers its pivotal thrust into power by Pope John Paul II. For it was this Pope who helped it to receive more attention and influence within the Vatican. For in 1982, the Pope made Opus Dei a personal prelature status within the church. This means an organization with structure, money, means, and a motive has no one to answer to, except the Pope, once every five years. Plenty of time to hide what you are doing. For those wanting information, there are no financial statements, no membership lists, a concealment of the number of actual members, keeping quiet about names of members, and members also are not to tell anyone they belong to Opus Dei. Affiliate organizations even keep their close connections to Opus Dei a secret.
The nature of this organization was brought to the forefront by Dan Brown of the DaVinci code fame. Although, this work has also been debated around the world as to its authenticity, it did bring Opus Dei to the front. Another book, however also notes this organization. The Popes Holy Mafia by Robert Hutchison in 1961 targets the secretive nature as did Dan Brown. The book by Robert Hutchison says it is a ” mighty network of priesthood, businessman, bankers, engineers and many other professions working together to create a worldwide intelligence and business apparatus which can influence any sphere of religion, politics or business.” The book coincides with Dan Browns in that it shows a dark sinister agency with the “work of God” attached to it. It is another ” another inquisition army which declared itself as being chosen by God himself to rule the world.”

Moreover, the agency can be seen on various web sites portraying the front ad-hoc view. Revealing the compassion driven, society caring, and sympathetic nature of this true work of God. The truth, though, is somewhere in the murky depths of this world of men and power. It is expected the organization has 85,000 members, even though no one really knows for sure. It is also know to have billions of dollars worth of money, property, and influence. Among its supporters, seen in the U.S.A. are some of the country’s best- known conservatives. They are pegged as Opus Dei sympathizers or friends: Antonin Scalia, Clarence Thomas, Robert Bork, Republican senators Rick Santorum and Sam Brownback, form Information Awareness Office director John M. Poindexter and TV pundits Lawrence Kudlow and Robert Novak.

This secretive movement has had members removed from its center. Many times these are people that want out. This was true of Sharon Clausen. She was first approached in 1981, while a freshman at Boston College. The term Opus Dei, “work of God” has a romantic pull to it. On the surface organizations like this use friendliness and deceptive means to lure the unaware into it. As Sharon says “Yeah, looking back, I was probably a little gullible, a little earnest, looking for direction. Opus Dei offered me a room at Bayridge, their lavish single- sex residence designed by Louis Comfort Tiffany, on leafy Commonwealth Avenue. Rent was reasonable, religious supervision free.” She decided to try it. From these innocent beginnings the trap had been laid. As is such for many secret organizations. They bring you in with such ease. Then over time coax you to join. After while they lay the foundations for your becoming one of them. This includes solid indoctrination, oversight, rigid discipline, removing you from friends and family, and isolating you. Then they add the threat of harm, ridicule, failure, and being an apostate from God.

This attitude is revealed in the secret constitution of 1950, Number 103, Section 1: which states ” “A member who, after taking the Fidelity, illegitimately separates himself from the Center to which he pertains with the intention to remove himself from obedience is said to be an apostate from the Institute. This malicious intention may be lawfully presumed if the member does not demonstrate his will to the Director, within one month, of returning or surrendering himself.” This statement simply put, means they can do anything under Gods law to get the offender back to God. Remember the inquisition by the Roman Catholic Church. It was charged with the eradication of heresy within the church. By means of torture and death many Christians died at their hands. All of this was done in the name of God.

Why would such devotees leave the “work of God”? The common thread that is apparent is the secret nature and oversight attached to it. No one really knows today what goes on with members in these organizations. These are traveling dioceses’ with their own government and not one person to answer too, except those within their immediate organization. Another part of the puzzle is the macabre nature of handling the disciples. From those who have left the organization and live to tell about it comes the following. They have to wear a barbed thigh chain called a cilice for two hours a day. If you forgot you had it on, it would draw blood when you sat down. Sleeping on floors, sleeping without pillows, discipline which meant being whipped with a long macrame rope. Along with all this came cold showers and sleeping on bed boards. You cannot see your family, no outside friendships (except to woo in others), no photo’s except that of the founder Josemaria Escriva. If you wanted to leave, you simply were headed for damnation and although all this is totally unbiblical, followers were again considered an apostate.

In cavda venenvm is Latin for “in the tail is the poison”. In other words, watch out for what you don’t see. Even if the head doesn’t bite, it doesn’t mean it won’t hurt you somehow. There are many such organizations like this one. Is this one a legit god-fearing organization? Is it a secret power of the Pope created for the “one world religion” and “new world order”? The many characteristics that people say it has when they get out of it, suggest it is a serpent with poison in the tail. It doesn’t bite with its mouth. Watch out for its back part, that which is hidden behind the head. This is the place where you can get bitten. In the dark shadows where reality is what men want them to be. In Latin you can say “Homines libenter quod volunt credunt” or ” Men believe what they want to”. (Terentius) Those ruling this ‘Opus Dei” or “work of God” see themselves as creating a world for the Catholic idea of one world religion. This they intend to do, no matter who gets hurt. After all, what is pain?

In conclusion, I want you to think about this statement. “Why do the Angels speak in Latin”? From the early confines of the Catholic hierarchy, all was done in Latin. It took a layman to print the first bible in a language that all people and laymen could read. From these beginnings we have been able to put what men say against the bible, the Word of God. Here is where evil is seen in the light of the Word of the Lord. We see what men say is truth with the Bible which is Truth. From this comparison we see the True light. When a person confronts such secret organizations, know this. They seek power, influence, and the rise of the propaganda they belong too. The New World Order is here now. It has not reached its level of prominence it is destined for. When it does, there shall stand the “man of perdition” and all those secret organizations like “Opus Dei” who made it possible. For this Man of Sin, The Antichrist will reveal himself to be God in the temple of God. Thus, a one world order, a one world religion, and a God on earth who will rule and reign. Even if he isn’t God, many will think he is. Thus, “Homines libenter quod volunt credunt” or ” Men believe what they want to”.

Phillies‘ Chris Coste has spent 11 years playing minor league ball, waiting for the call he received Sunday morning. Coste finally had his first day in the majors when he was called up from Triple-A to replace infielder Alex Gonzalez, who abruptly retired before Sunday’s game.

The phone call came out of nowhere for Coste, who was thinking at the other end of the spectrum when he heard a voice message left by Scranton-Wilkes-Barre manager John Russell. “That I was coming to the big leagues was a zero-percent thought,” said Coste, who hit .177 with two home runs and 14 RBIs at Scranton and only recently began to snap out of a long slump. “His voice was serious on the message, and he said, ‘We need to talk,’ so I was thinking, ‘What did I do? Fail a drug test?

“I was lying in bed and I wasn’t sure if it was a dream, because I’ve had dreams that I’m in the big leagues, and then I wake up mad.” Coste got a warm welcome from several players and coaches in the dugout. “I’m pumped to see him here,” pitcher Cory Lidle said. “When I came in after warming up I gave him a hug and congratulated him.”I saw him in the dugout. He was having a blast.”
The Nationals‘ pitching staff has been so devastated by injuries, it’s gotten to the point where the club can barely get through a nine-inning game anymore and their chances to make the playoffs this year are getting worst day by day according to some Sportsbook odds.

Zach Day became the latest pitcher to go down when he had to depart Monday night’s game with right shoulder tendonitis. He immediately was placed on the disabled list, where he joins five other injured Washington hurlers: John Patterson, Brian Lawrence, Luis Ayala, Pedro Astacio and Ryan Drese.

Desperate for help, the Nationals will promote right-handed relievers Saul Rivera and Santiago Ramirez from Triple-A New Orleans on Tuesday. They’ll still need to find a No. 5 starter to fill Day’s spot before it comes up again, with minor-leaguer Shawn Hill the likely candidate.

All the injuries have done a number on a ball club that following Monday’s loss to Houston is 16-29. “Check the record, and that will show you the toll,” general manager Jim Bowden said.

Nominated for 9 Emmys and 2 Golden Globes, Scrubs premiered in Fall 2001 to moderate fanfare and a respectable Nielsen rating of #34. And although the series has yet to achieve blockbuster ratings, it has managed to build a loyal fan base devoted to its unique brand of humor and quirky characters. Created by Bill Lawrence (creator of Spin City), Scrubs is a spoof on the dearth of hospital dramas that have cropped up since ER popularized the genre. In a sense, it’s what Grey’s Anatomy would be like if Ben Stiller were the lead character.

Filmed in a real life hospital (North Hollywood Medical Center), Scrubs follows the bungling day-to-day experiences of medical intern Dr. John “J.D.” Dorian (Zach Braff). Along with his college buddy Dr. Christopher Turk (Donald Faison), the two newcomers must learn the ropes of daily life in an actual hospital setting. But Sacred Heart, their new stomping ground, is the epitome of a dysfunctional work environment. One might easily believe that everyone’s job is to dump on J.D. In getting his feet wet, the young intern butts heads with numerous characters such as fellow intern and potential love interest Dr. Elliot Reid (Sarah Chalke), cranky Chief of Medicine Dr. Bob Kelso (Ken Jenkins), the ever-abrasive Dr. Perry Cox (John C. McGinley), pessimistic nurse Carla Espinosa (Judy Reyes), and a sarcastic janitor (Neil Flynn).

Scrubs is a character-driven show that’s exceptionally well-written, and the acting is superb. John C. McGinley is fantastic in the role of Dr. Cox, a performance almost as memorable as his portrayal of consultant Bob Slydell in Office Space. His delivery is almost as perfect as that of Ken Jenkins who often resembles Lloyd Bridges from Airplane with his uncanny ability to deliver ridiculous one-liners with a straight face. Veteran talents Sarah Chalke (Becky from Roseanne) and Donald Faison (Murray from Clueless) round out an excellent supporting cast for Zach Braff who makes his mark with this very likeable character. In the end, Scrubs is a situation comedy built on the strength of biting sarcasm and clever humor. And although it’s already enjoyed a successful five-year run, it’s probably one of the most underappreciated comedies on network TV. If you haven’t yet seen it, do yourself a favor and check it out. You won’t be disappointed.

Prince Edward Island is Canada’s smallest and greenest province. Cradled on the waves of the Gulf of St. Lawrence, the Island is known for the vivid colours of its gently rolling landscape. The Island is surrounded by miles of sandy beaches and red sandstone cliffs and is sized just right for touring. Visitors to the Island return home not only relaxed and refreshed – they often claim to have been transformed, which leads us to wonder “What if the World Had Been to Prince Edward Island?”

What you think could be more important than you think; That is, what you unconsciously think could play a more crucial role in your conscious thoughts and actions than previously believed, according to recent research.

Over the last few years, experiments in the United States and Europe have proven that we clean up more when a faint scent of cleaning solution is present, are more competitive if a briefcase is within view, and are more cooperative after seeing words like “dependable” and “support.” This was true in experiments even when subjects were only briefly exposed to the stimuli and were completely (consciously) unaware of the triggers that changed their behavior. Scholars claim such results reveal that our subconscious is much more active, purposeful, and independent than scientists had supposed.

We have these unconscious behavioral guidance systems that are continually furnishing suggestions through the day about what to do next, and the brain is considering and often acting on those, all before conscious awareness. Sometimes these goals are in line with our conscious intentions and purposes, and sometimes they’re not,” said John A. Bargh, professor of psychology at Yale University.

Such findings could have a dramatic impact on the health care and health insurance industries, to say nothing of politics and advertising. For instance, if it is proven that we can actually control more of our behavior than previously believed possible through the manipulation of unconscious thoughts, therapies like meditation, aromatherapy, color therapy, and hypnosis — which many believe act on the unconscious mind — could be covered someday by most health insurance policies. For states like Texas, with 25% of its population going without health insurance, and many of the mentally ill going without care, this could be big news.

For businesses based in practices like the martial arts and yoga — springing up all over the state, particularly in the major cities of Dallas, Houston, and Austin — it could mean being able to bill health insurance companies for their services in the future.

Bargh and Lawrence Williams, also of Yale, co-authored a breakthrough study demonstrating that the way we perceive someone can be affected by even minor, unrelated stimuli. The psychologists ran a series of experiments on unsuspecting undergraduate students in which a phony lab assistant overburdened with an armload of materials and a cup of coffee “accidentally” bumped into subjects. The “assistant” asked each student to hold the coffee, which was either warm or iced. Later, the students were asked to read about a hypothetical person and rate that person based on certain criteria. Those who held the iced coffee consistently reported the fictional character as colder, less social, and more selfish than those who held the warm cup of joe.

In 2004, Stanford University psychologist Aaron Kay also singled out undergraduate students. Subjects in his experiment were asked to play an investment game; half the participants played while a briefcase sat at the opposite end of a large table. The other half was placed in an identical setting, but enjoyed the company of a backpack during the course of the experiment instead. Those who played in the presence of the briefcase were consistently stingier with their money, and none of the participants had a marked perception of whether they had acted selfishly or generously.

Authors of the study claim the mere presence of the briefcase “unconsciously generated business-related associations and expectations,” and that the brain specifically chooses a “program” to run — in this case, “compete.”

The brain seems to utilize the same neural circuits to execute an unconscious act as a conscious one, giving credence to claims that unconscious goals persist with the same determination as conscious goals and motivations. It may even explain why we act rudely, for instance, without being aware of it — perhaps triggered by an unregistered irritation or even, as Bargh and Williams might suggest, by completely unrelated stimuli.

The answer, or at least part of it, may lie in the subcortical areas of the brain, says Chris Firth, professor of neuropsychology at the University College London, and author of Making Up the Mind: How the Brain Creates Our Mental World. A team of English and French neuroscientists, headed by Firth, conducted brain imaging scans on eighteen men and women while they responded to a set of flashing images.

Results revealed that conscious and unconscious thoughts ran similar circuitry patterns, and that the ventral palladium — an area of the brain below conscious thought — was especially active when subjects responded. Such data fuels the theory that we make decisions from the “bottom up,” that these more primitive parts of the brain weigh the reward of an action and decide on what to do before even sending the information “up” to areas running the higher levels of consciousness. All this occurs within fractions of a second, well before our conscious awareness has time to pick it up.

If the theories of Bargh, Williams, and Firth were to prove true, then those practices deemed “alternative” by the Western world, such as meditation and aromatherapy, may eventually elevate to the same status as many “conventional” practices. If our perceptions and decisions are formed, first, in the subcortical areas of the brain, and influenced by sight, sound, smell and sensation before we even consciously know it — and at virtually every moment – doing things like playing soft music during rush hour traffic, or lighting the right scented candle before going to bed, could make a major difference in the quality of our lives. It’s ironic that science can actually, simply prove that it knows less about us than we already know about ourselves…at least on some level.
